PT Asian Hybrid Seed Technologies Indonesia is a company engaged in agribusiness, specifically hybrid corn seeds. It began its operations in Manado, North Sulawesi, in 2002. In 2003, the business was moved to Jember, East Java, as it is one of Indonesia's agribusiness centers. The company has since expanded quickly to rank among Indonesia's top hybrid corn producers. PT AHSTI is capable of producing high-quality seeds that have consistent germination of above 90%, resistant to diseases and insects. It has one of the best processing and engineering capabilities that have excellent supporting facilities such as warehousing, laboratory, administration, and a link to its Philippine research and development.

PT AHSTI, the Establishment’s Beginnings
Year 2002When Mr. Alan B. Uy came to Indonesia for the first time, he saw the huge potential of the corn industry. This created an opportunity to establish a seed factory under the name PT Asian Hybrid Seed Technologies Indonesia (AHSTI) which was then located in Minahasa. The location of Minahasa was chosen considering its proximity to Davao (Philippines). Initially, PT AHSTI did not have its own building, so it was done by renting a warehouse with an initial production of 100 hectares for the Jaya and Jaya 3 varieties.

Factory Construction
Year 2003The construction of a processing factory in Jember Regency, East Java, began in 2003. This site transfer was done considering the increasing need for seeds and the expanding processing capacity. It was at this time that the NKRI variety was released and provided for the Government project. The NKRI was a superior white corn variety that is milled and sold as a commodity. This year, the seed production capacity is increased to 640 MT/cycle, which translates to 3 cycles per month and yields 1,920 MT/month. Nusantara Hybrid Corn Seeds are launched with the advantages of high yield, wide adaptability, and farmer friendly price. Production capacity was increased by adding 1 processing line with a capacity of 800 MT/cycle. So that total processing capacity in 2004 was 4,920 MT/Month.

Market Demand
Year 2005With the increasing market demand for corn seeds produced by PT AHSTI, another production line was added in the year 2005. As a result, there is an increased production capacity 800 MT per cycle so that the total production capacity is 7,320 per month.

New Variety Release
Year 2006In 2006, the Asia 92 variety was released which has the advantage of early maturity, high yield, and disease resistance. Seed production collaboration with PT SHS was carried out to fulfill Government Project activities.

Launching of Asian Honey Variety in the Open Market
Year 2012A critical turning point in PT AHSTI's development would occur in 2012 when the company begins to focus aggressively on the open market. As the first sweet corn product produced by PT AHSTI, a new variety called Asian Honey, was also released this year. It was also on this year that PT AHSTI obtained ISO-2008 certification for quality management.

Year 2014 - NowCurrently, the company has 3 production lines, advanced corn seed processing facilities which is capable of producing 20 thousand tons of corn seeds per year, complete with supporting facilities such as warehousing, laboratories, administration, linkages to research and development, supported by more than 600 personnel experts and professional workforce with various expertise from within and outside the country.
